Student wins local SPARKS contest

The local heats of the SPARKS UK Apprentice Electrician of the Year were held last week at the City of Bath College.

Apprentices from a number of colleges and training providers battled it out against each other, completing a range of written and practical tests. Scoring a perfect 100% in his written work, and 98% in his practical activity, local lad Scott Wigmore was eventually crowned the winner.

Scott, who is studying the Level 3 Electrical Installation course and is employed by Bridgwater firm PRP Electrical, will now go forward to compete in the National Finals at Newbury Racecourse in Berkshire in April.
